In another successful step towards warmly welcoming the incoming Erasmus+ students, University of Economics – Varna hosted a vibrant "Bulgarian Evening" – a special event dedicated to welcoming incoming Erasmus+ students and giving them a chance to have an authentic experience of Bulgaria’s cultural traditions.
The event began by greeting the students with the traditional Bulgarian welcome of bread, honey, and salt – a centuries-old symbol of hospitality and warmth. The students had the chance to taste traditional Bulgarian dishes and enjoyed a special surprise performance by a former student who greeted them with a beautiful Bulgarian folklore song.
The students enjoyed an engaging presentation on traditional Bulgarian folklore dances and customs, which provided valuable insights into the country’s cultural heritage. The night then continued with a fun quiz on Bulgaria, with prizes awarded to the most knowledgeable teams.
Adding a meaningful touch to the event, students were invited to leave a note on the “Erasmus+ Board-Messages for the Future Incoming Students”, sharing their thoughts, advice, and well-wishes for those incoming Erasmus+ students who will join the University of Economics – Varna in the summer semester.
The culmination of the evening was a spectacular performance by folklore group "Bulgarka", who captivated the audience with traditional Bulgarian dances. The room came alive with energy as students took to the floor to learn and dance the famous 'Pravo horo' together.
