On 4th of May 2026, the University of Economics – Varna hosted an International Evening as part of the BIP “Dukenet Markstrat Challenge”. The event brought together participants from 9 countries – Germany, Finland, Poland, Italy, France, Hungary, Romania, Spain, and Bulgaria – in a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, traditions, and culinary exchange. The International Evening marked the conclusion of the first day of the BIP “Dukenet Markstrat Challenge” programme, of which the University of Economics- Varna has the honour to host this year.

The event allowed participants to share a part of their national identity through traditional food they had especially brought from their country and prepared themselves. The students enjoyed a wide selection of culinary specialties from various countries and had the opportunity to learn more about the cultures and culinary traditions of their peers. Bulgarian cuisine also attracted considerable interest and was warmly received and highly appreciated by the international guests.

The International evening was filled with a vibrant and friendly atmosphere, with music, dancing, laughter, and positive emotions. A special highlight of the evening was the performance of ensemble “Bulgarka”, which presented a traditional folklore programme to the international audience. With great enthusiasm, the participants joined in the experience, learned the steps of the Bulgarian “Pravo horo” and “Byala Rosa”, leaving a memorable impression on everyone present.
