Following the strategic goals of internationalisation in the last few years, University of Economics – Varna expands its cooperation with higher education institutions from now on in Central Asia. In the month of April 2023 the head of the "International Relations Office" of UE – Varna carried out mobility for the purpose of teaching at the University of Economics and Pedagogy, Karshi, Uzbekistan. During the visit, Raychev presented a series of lectures dedicated to Bulgarian history and culture. At the same time, meetings were held with the academic leadership of the host university, where opportunities for exchange were discussed students, teachers and administrative staff.
In this connection it was signed cooperation agreement, which is the first agreement of UE – Varna with an Uzbek partner, outside the Erasmus+ program. At a solemn ceremony attended by the head of the Bulgarian embassy in Uzbekistan, Mrs. Stoyana Rusinova, the rector of the university host Assoc. Prof. Dr. Otabek Bozorov signed the cooperation agreement with UE – Varna. The event was attended by the entire academic staff of the University of Economics and Pedagogy, the Deputy Minister of Education of the district Kashkadaria in Uzbekistan, students and journalists. At the end of the ceremony, from the name of the rector of UE – Varna, Prof. Dr. Evgeni Stanimirov, to Prof. Bozorov a plaque was presented by the University of Economics – Varna. On behalf of the vice-rector of Internationalisation at UE – Varna Assoc. Dr. Radan Miryanov, Evgeni Raychev extended an invitation to visit the entire academic leadership of the Uzbek University of UE – Varna. During the meeting, Raychev and the head of the international department of the host university Shohjahon Abdurahimov shared that the two universities participate in a joint project Erasmus+ project proposal, key activity 1, in which they are mobilities of students and teachers included.
A plaque on behalf of the rector of UE – Varna was also presented to Stoyana Rusinova, charche de fair of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the conversation with E. Raichev, Mrs. Rusinova pointed out that UE – Varna is the only Bulgarian one a university that has a cooperation agreement with a university from the region of Kashkadaria.
