On May 4th, the University of Economics – Varna held a farewell ceremony for 31 students from Universal AI University, Mumbai, India, who were valuable part of the academic community during the period February–May of 2025/2026 academic year. This exchange marked the sixth consecutive collaboration with our long-standing partner Universal AI University - Mumbai in India and stood out as the largest one organized so far.  

During their three-month stay, the students followed an individually designed academic program, including courses such as international economics and entrepreneurship. The program provided them with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and gain insight into the academic environment and educational practices in Bulgaria.

In addition to their academic commitments, the students actively participated in a variety of events and initiatives, including the welcome days for exchange students, the traditional Bulgarian Evening, and a tree-planting initiative held at the “Golden Sands” resort. These activities allowed them to fully engage in the university life and immerse themselves in Bulgarian culture and traditions.

Throughout their stay, the students from Universal AI University - Mumbai became an integral and active part of the academic community, demonstrating strong motivation, adaptability, and intercultural competence.

During the official farewell ceremony Chief Assist. Prof. Todor Dyankov, PhD – coordinator of the programme and Slavena Tsoneva, PhD - head of the International Relations, reflected on the students’ experience during their stay, while the students shared highly positive feedback during the discussion panel.

This sixth academic exchange between the University of Economics – Varna and Universal AI University - Mumbai is yet another testament to the institutions’ commitment to internationalization and sustainable long-term partnerships.
