From 29 June to 3 July 2026, the University of Economics – Varna hosted its 7th International Staff Week under the “Erasmus+” programme-an established forum dedicated to international cooperation, the exchange of best practices and the development of new internaitonal networks.
The event brought together academic staff and international relations professionals from 18 partner universities representing 13 countries across three continents.
The 7th International Staff Week was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Radan Miryanov, PhD, Vice Rector for International Relations and Partnerships. The participants were also warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Zhechev, PhD, Head of the Marketing Department and Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator at the UE-Varna, and Dr. Slavena Tsoneva, Head of the International Relations Office.
The programme featured presentations and interactive discussions on current trends in higher education and international cooperation. Key topics included the presentation of participating institutions, effective strategies for engaging Generation Z, the role of artificial intelligence in higher education, as well as opportunities for developing joint educational initiatives and double-degree programmes.
Alongside the professional sessions, participants enjoyed a rich cultural programme designed to introduce them to Bulgaria's history, traditions, and cultural heritage. They also had the opportunity to learn more about the University of Economics – Varna and its international profile. The cultural programme included a dedicated cultural panel, a gala cocktail, and a sightseeing excursion.
