Master Degree

Training for the educational and qualification degree of master at the University of Economics - Varna is provided in two types - full-time and part-time studies.

In order to be able to apply for the educational and qualification degree of master, students must have acquired the degree of bachelor or master, irrespective of the area of higher education. Training for the educational and qualification degree of master covers a minimum of two semesters for full-time studies and three semesters for part-time studies. The length of the study period is set according to the area of higher education and the professional field in which the applicant has obtained his/her bachelor degree. Training for the educational and qualification degree of master at the University of Economics is provided in two areas of higher education and four professional fields, in 24 master programs, included in the major subject registry.

The state quota is open to students who have graduated the University of Economics and would like to apply for the same major subject in which they obtained their bachelor degree. All students who hold a bachelor or master degree, irrespective of the higher school they have graduated, can apply for the paid form of tuition.

SCIENTIFIC FIELD "ECONOMICS"

Those who have graduated the educational and qualification degree of master are awarded the professional qualification "master of economics".

The Accounting and Auditing program The training in this major subject widens and deepens the students' knowledge in the area of accounting, economic analysis and financial control. The curricula includes subjects, oriented towards the requirements of the International Accounting Standards.

Graduates are provided the opportunity to find employment as executives in all spheres of the economy (irrespective of the branch of industry); in the system of financial and tax control; in the chamber of accounts, the financial audit, research organizations; can draw up and sign financial reports of enterprises in accordance with Art. 34 of the LA, as well as apply for becoming certified public accountants, in accordance with Art. 16 of the Law of Independent Financial Audit..

The Corporate Finance program Training aims at developing knowledge and practical skills for the successful financial management of companies and corporations. It emphasizes on some topical issues in the area of: corporate finance, corporate accounting, bank services provision to corporate clients, taxation techniques, controlling and human resources management in companies.

Tuition in this major ensures competencies in investment management, foreign exchange transactions, international settlements, management of intellectual property, strategic management in companies, organization and development of corporate information systems.

The Public Finance program Training aims at providing systematic knowledge and integrated practical skills in the area of financial management in the public sector. The emphasis is on some topical issues of investment projects appraisal, taxation planning and organization, the bringing of public sector organization in compliance with European requirements, conducting financial audit and controlling, management of pension, insurance and investment companies.

Graduates can find employment as managers and executives in central and local institutions within the system of the Ministry of Finance, financial houses and investment brokers, insurance companies and funds, the tax administration, customs services, etc The Bank Management program Training in this major aims at acquiring knowledge and practical skills in the area of investment decisions and diagnostics of financial markets, management of bank services, auditing and controlling of bank activities.

Graduates can find employment as specialists in operations management at commercial banks, financial houses and investment funds, as researchers and financial analysts in the sphere of banking, the money and capital markets, as middle and top level managers in the banking and finance industry.

The major trains specialists in two areas: managers of business and not-for-profit organizations and activities, managers of corporate-type organizations, managers of small and middle-sized business enterprises, functional and project managers, executives in the business administration, including managers of production and trade units, analysts and managers of the various resources in the organization, etc.. The Business Administration program Training allows for the formation and further development of knowledge and approaches for diagnosing business cases, the making of decisions in the area of capital, investment and human resources.
